Kallebokka - Upper Division 360° View Point — Kallebokka – Upper Division 360° View Point

Kallebokka (also spelt Kelebokka or Kalabokka) is an estate bordering the Knuckles Mountain range, owned by the Sri Lanka State Plantations Corporation. Positioned atop a hill in the Upper Division of the estate is a spot offering a panoramic 360º view of the entire area, encompassing the Knuckles range. This vantage point is accessible to visitors and open to the public. Situated at an elevation of 1350 meters (4500 feet) above sea level, the peak provides a breathtaking vista of the surrounding landscape.

The site is situated 35 km from Kandy and 25 km from Matale. To reach it from Kandy, you’ll embark on the scenic Madawala-Bambarella road, winding through mountainous terrain. After covering 25 km, you’ll veer onto Kabaragala Road at the fork. Continuing for approximately 10 km along this route, you’ll then turn into the estate and follow the by-road leading to the senior assistant superintendent’s bungalow in the upper division of Kellebokka.

If travelling from Matale, you’ll need to follow the road leading to Kabaragala and continue beyond Kabaragala until you reach the turn-off leading to the senior assistant superintendent’s bungalow. The total travel time from Matale will be slightly over 1 hour.

Accessing the peak by vehicle is feasible, but it’s essential to use a vehicle with adequate ground clearance to navigate the 4-kilometre journey along the deteriorated estate road.
