This 33m-high fall is situated in a wetland area 800-1000m above sea level, which is comprised of both deciduous plants and tea plantations. The deciduous plants are burnt for use in the slash and burn method of cultivation, and hunting. This is having a detrimental effect on the water table and poses a threat to the levels of water in the aquifers of the area.
The fall can be reached via a footpath that leads up from Kaletibbawela village, Metigahatenna area, Badulla District (Passara Secretariat Division).
