This 45m-high fall is split into three segments and is situated in Atakalan Korale, adjacent to Makandura village in the Hingurugalkande area. It is fed by several brooks of the Giruwa Dola stream.
The fall is near Kahawatte, Ratnapura District. From Kahawatte, travel along the Opatha road for 14km, which leads near the fall. To the north of Makandura village there is a steep slope. Above this is Papow Falls, flowing down a protruding rockface.
