This is another huge reservoir built by King Mahasen (276-303),
located west of Kala Wewa. Later King Dhathusena
(459-477) built the Balaluwewa Ela (Balaluwewa Canal), the
left bank canal of
Kalawewa to take water to Siyabalagamuwa wewa from the
Kala Wewa.
