Elephants at the Garbage Dump Near Manampitiya Bridge
This is one of the most common sight in Polonnaruwa and one of the saddest.
This massive garbage dump just before the Manampitiya
Bridge is attracting the wild elephants in the areas and they can be seen
in the morning and in the evening from about 4-7 pm. Sometimes as many as 10
elephants can be seen digging up the garbage alongside herds of cows.
