Nedun Raja Maha Vihara

  The Nedun Raja Maha Vihara temple where Rev. Karandana Devarakkhitha Thero had lived here and written the Thripitaka manuscript called “Medun Sangiya” and handed over to the king Sri Wickramarajasinghe, is located in Kuruwita division and as a result of the presentation of this Thripitaka manuscript to the king, the village called,”Dumbaragama” which has 8305 acres of land in extent had been offered to this temple. Nedun Vihara temple is the most attractive and fantastic temple in this division.

Now Ven. Handapangoda Wimala Thero ,the incumbent priest of the Sri Pada is residing here.In addition, the longest  tusk in Asia  is available in the   Kiriella Nedun Vihara temple .
